Yet another strain for employers
Posted on February 23rd 2009
Physiotherapists have warned businesses and the Government that they need to do more to protect workers from repetitive strain injuries.
Official figures have shown that the rate of RSI has barely changed in the past six years, there are still over 200,000 sufferers a year in the UK.
It is now being brought to the attention of the Government by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, that they want all employers to be compelled to provide occupational health services.
Any person affected by RSI will take on average 13 days off a year which means nearly three million working days are lost a year in the UK. This is a figure that has hardly changed, which has caused concern for the physiotherapists, this is why they have sort help from the Government.
