Workplace accident victim receive £118,500

£118,500 has been awarded to a worker after he fell 10 feet from a step ladder whilst working as a painter and decorator.

The man, who was being contracted as a painter and decorator at the time, was required to decorate a class room of a local college. In order to carry out the job, he needed to go up a scaffolding tower, however he believed this looked very unsafe and resorted to a step ladder which collapsed causing him to fall 10 feet.

The fall left him with a compound fracture to his leg, which required numerous operations. He now has to use a mobility car if he needs to leave his house.
