Workers death calls for police investigation

The death of a construction worker at Hampshire cricket ground has led to an investigation by the police. The victim Philip Carsley, died after an industrial accident occurred at the well known Rose Bowl ground.

The accident happened while Mr Carsley was working on a new spectator stand, early reports tell how a concrete block then dropped from a crane crushing him. Emergency services where called to the scene but Mr Carsley died shortly after the accident happened, his family have been notified.

Local police and the Health and Safety Executive are holding the investigation, where further assessment will determine the exact cause.
