Snapped from beneath her!
Posted on September 26th 2008
£7,200 has been awarded to a student whose high heel shoe snapped causing her to break her ankle.
The student was wearing a £35 pair of shoes from a leading shoe chain when the left heel snapped causing her to fall to the ground. The student then fainted later waking up in an ambulance.
An x-ray confirmed that the ankle was broken badly requiring screws to be placed in the anklebone.
The student was in a plaster cast for several weeks, leaving her unable to do any sport or work. As a result she had to resign from her job as a waitress.
The shoe chain accepted full liability for the injury stating that there was a defect with the shoes.
