Slip and Trip for Cleaner

A lady has been awarded £3,500 from a supermarket, where she worked as a cleaner, from slipping on a puddle of water.

The incident occurred when she was asked to place some warning cones over a puddle of water caused by a leaking roof in order to protect the public from slipping. On her way to the store cupboard she slipped on another puddle, landing on her back causing injury to her shoulders and resulting in back pain that she will receive for the rest of her life, she is also left unable to work full time.

The supermarket admitted liability and commented that management have known about the leaking roof for sometime but had not got round to fixing the problem.
