Skip traps workers hand

£23,500 has been awarded to a labourer who was injured at work.

The worker was stood between 2 skips when one started to move unexpectedly, trapping his hand. It was discovered that his employee, who was operating a crane to move the skips, was moving the skip when it was unsafe to do so.

His right hand was crushed in the accident causing a fracture, diversion of the muscles and bruising of the nerves, resulting in the need of surgery, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

The labourer was off for four months to recovery from his injuries.
