Second serious accident occurs on site
Posted on October 17th 2008
The second serious accident occurred this week at Scotland's largest hydro-electric Scheme in Glendoe, when a polish worker who was in his vehicle fell off a dam which was under construction.
The vehicle rolled down the side of the dam, breaking his legs. Paramedics were called to the scene and he was taken to a nearby hospital.
Three weeks ago a gentleman from Prague, who was also working on the site was killed in an accident involving a fork lift truck.
The contactors, who employed both the workers have been previously investigated by the Health and Safety Executives and broken the law ten times in two years. They have also served the firm with four enforcement notices since the scheme started in 2006.
