Safety award of 2009 goes to DWP

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has spent a lot of time and effort in order to improve safety at work. All of their hard work has not gone unnoticed. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has awarded the DWP with the silver Occupational Health and Safety Award 2009.
The ceremony was where held in Birmingham where a group of health and safety professionals presented the award to the DWP. The panel recognised the effort and improvements that DWP had made in developing their safety management systems.
The RoSPA awards manager, David Rawlins, said 'DWP has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. Entering the RoSPA Awards reinforces the message that good health and safety is good for business, and clearly demonstrates an organisation's dedication to improving performance in this crucial area.'
