New government scheme designed to benefit small buineses

The Government has launched a new scheme that has been set up to help small businesses understand and administer health and safety laws with more success. This has been set up to fund money into businesses in order for them to have the finances to set up new projects to address such issues as stress.

A spokesperson for the International Stress Management Association UK, Chris Clarke said: "This is a very good idea in that it enables small to medium-sized enterprises to become or remain compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999."

The project could not have been launched at a better time, the number of small businesses that are struggling with finances are finding that they are using money that should be used for health and safety in an attempt to stay in business. This reduction in safety administration in small businesses could lead to an increase in the overall figure of injuries at work.
