New centre aimed at helping to reduce workplace accidents
Posted on November 11th 2009
CSS the specialist consultants have opened up a new facility, which aims to provide health and safety training for height and confined space safety. The training will also include skills training in the hope this will also help prevent accidents at work. Falls from a height in the workplace are one of the main causes for injuries at work, CSS believe that this makes up around 20% of all workplace accidents.
The centre took just 2 months to develop and is now open with 30 trainers from CSS at hand to help battle against accidents at work. The Halifax company Penta Training, is the company that has teamed up with CSS in this venture, run by director Akmal Saeed and operations manager Badar Zaman the company specialises in aerial and satellite systems.
Both companies agreed a common goal and are now working together to try and combat the potentially huge market of training workmen and women on workplace safety. Mr Saeed said: "Because I'm from the satellite and aerial industry I have got a lot of customers within this industry - for example, installers need training. Not many do the heights sector."
CSS have already trained 7,000 people in safety at work and hope that through this venture they can help increase the figure ten-fold.
