Liability at work continues to fall

Liability at work over the past few months has seen a fall in the amount of injuries and deaths that have occurred. This fall is mainly due to the change in laws and fines that companies are now liable to receive should they be held accountable for the injuries sustained to an employee. These new charges have lead to companies taking more care and ensuring the safety of their workers in the fear that should an employee injure themselves they are at minimal risk of liability.

A increased number of events have been put in place to help over the last year in order to help both employers and employees prevent and understand the risks involved regarding workplace accidents. Even with this increase in support and awareness another problem has come into affect. Organised gangs are now staging accidents in order to obtain compensation from a company with no intent to continue to work previous to the claim or after. This type of accident is hard to prevent by the employers but this can be avoided by keeping standards high and thorough background checks on all new staff.
