Industrial accident causes injuries to worker

Compensation has been awarded to a man who suffered physical and psychological injuries in an industrial accident.

The man, who worked unloading and loading lorries was asked to carry out another task that he had not been given any training or instructions for.

The worker was asked to operate a pillar drill, which became jammed on a piece of wood and in trying to dislodge the wood, his glove became caught and his hand was pulled in.

Primary liability was admitted by his employers, resulting in a claim of £120,000.
