Hand trapped after slip at work

The Thorntons in Derbyshire was fined £12,000 and ordered to pay £4,548 after a worker slipped on a wet surface and trapped his hand in rollers, seriously injuring his hand.
The worker suffered two broken bones and severe tissue damage after he caught his hand in the depositor hopper and the rotating rollers. This incident is among more than 700 workers in Derbyshire that have been injured at work as a result of a slip or trip.
