Granddad wins £200,000 in compensation
Posted on March 30th 2009
A man from Liverpool was diagnosed with cancer of the lining of the lung and is currently suffering from Mesothelioma which he contracted by being exposed to asbestos. There is no cure for the deadly disease which is affecting more and more trade related employees every year.
The granddad was exposed to asbestos when he worked as a labourer on the construction of power stations in Hertfordshire. He was responsible for the mixing asbestos used to insulate boiler pipes. The man was never made aware of the dangers involved in asbestos.
The company he worked for denied he was employed there or that they had worked on the site where he had been affected. The courts ruled in his favour after he provided strong evidence to support his case and awarded him £200,000 in compensation.
