Enquiry into Road Workers death finds employers guilty

The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland has brought a case against a construction company after one of their workers was hit by a passing vehicle whilst carrying out road works.
The company who was fined £65,000 over the workers death was found guilty of breaching Health and Safety Legislations at Ballymena Crown Court, following the investigation after finding that there was no safety precautions put in place, including no warning signs.
The deputy chief executive for the HSENI commented that road works should be carried out in a well planned and safe manner, with the use of adequate signage, warnings and if required road closures, to ensure that all road workers safety is put first.
