Elderly woman receives 100,000 compensation

A woman was awarded £100,000 compensation after a handrail broke which resulted in her having a nasty fall.

The elderly woman was leaving a restaurant, walking down the stairs when the handrail she was holding onto collapsed from under her arm. The women fell down the flight of stairs.

The elderly lady was rushed to hospital after suffering from severe shock and injuries sustained from her fall. She suffered from two broken ribs and a twisted ankle. After the fall she found it much harder to get around and to do normal everyday things which resulted in her being moved to a residential home.

After a very lengthy court case, the woman was awarded £100,000 from the restaurant for her injuries and mental anguish.
