Dog chase ends in disaster for cyclist
Posted on October 15th 2008
A Cyclist has received £14,000 compensation after injuries sustained by a dog.
The former RAF pilot was cycling through a park when a dog ran in front of his bicycle. The man was thrown over the handle bars, causing him to fracture his pelvis. His injuries left him in hospital for over a month and he spent a further 3 months on crutches. The man was unable to carry out everyday tasks for a further 6 months.
The accident has caused a huge uproar in the cycling community. The UK's national cyclist's organisation said "All dog owners need to take their legal responsibility seriously and ensure that their dogs are under control and trained to not chase cyclists."
