Dockyard company pleaded guilty to HSE charges

The Health and Safety Executive have prosecuted a boat yard after being found guilty of breaching current health and safety laws. Rosyth Royal Dockyard was found to have breached Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 after a worker received serious injuries when a steel plate struck his hand during a lifting operation.
The incident occurred on the 5th of February when a contractor for the company Robert Summers Transport Ltd was involved in the accident. Rosyth Royal Dockyard pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined £10,000 by Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
