Discrimination in the workplace

Figures recently releases by the tribunal service has exposed that compensation claims for discrimination in the workplace has more than tripled showing that workers are becoming more aware of their rights in the workplace. In 2006 962 claims were reported, in 2007 this increased to 2,940.
A recent claim worth £250,000 for a TV presented who claimed that she had been a victim of ageism backed up by the figures. Between April and June of this year 1032 age discrimination claims were reported compared to only 700 in 2007.
