Consultation opens on PPI selling rules
Posted on August 10th 2010
The Competition Commission announced at the end of July that there will be consultation on the rules governing the sales of payment protection insurance (PPI). This is likely to affect those liability insurance customers who rely on PPI sales to protect the payments that their customers make.
The Commission is following various initiatives after the adverse publicity surrounding PPI and the selling tactics of many organisations. The Commission is inviting comments on its proposals between now and 3rd September 2010.
So any organisation that might have problems if they are prevented from selling PPI to their customers need to get involved with the process. They may also have to look at their liability insurance to see if their risks can be covered from that direction.
