Agency worker injured at work
Posted on September 29th 2008
An out of court settlement has resulted in an agency worker receiving £2,600 compensation after being injured at work.
The man, who was working as a picker at a waste processing company had been hired via an agency. He was sweeping the floor, as part of one of his duties when he was hit in the back by a JCB and knocked over, causing him to sustain injuries.
After looking in to the working environment, the man's solicitors commented that if companies have environments where workers and traffic mix they should consider the dangers involved. Appropriate traffic routes should be put in place to accommodate both vehicles and pedestrians to minimise any risk of an accident.
