£70,000 in compensation for injured worker
Posted on October 09th 2009
£70,000 of compensation has been awarded to an employee of Albion Water Heaters Limited after a workplace accident.
Mr Robb had been trying to operate a milling machine, however it failed to turn on, in a last minute attempt he put his hand in the machine and unexpectedly it started, catching his hand. His wrist became stuck and caused a dislocated fracture to the wrist.
The fracture on Mr Robb's left wrist had to be operated on, with the doctors inserting a six hole reconstruction plate to realign, leaving him with a long and painful recovery. Since the operation he is unable to carry out any work that involves lifting as his arm cannot be fully extended, this has minimised the amount of work that he can now do, as well as developing post traumatic stress disorder for all the pain and upset that he has been through.
The compensation received will not only help Mr Robb with the suffering he has had to endure, but also contribute for the loss of earnings so far, and any difficulties he may face in the future.
