4,000 in compensation paid out after workplace accident

Linzi Hall an office worker from Firth Park has received £4,000 in compensation after falling into a shelving unit at work, causing her to break her nose. Other injuries where sustained from the accident including difficulty in breathing, the injuries she sustained where to such an extent that she needed surgery. The incident occurred while she was standing on a chair unaware that the floor around her had been mopped. This meant that when she went to move the chair she slipped and fell onto the metal unit causing the injuries to her face.

The incident had occurred in October 2007, but she was forced to wait until summer last year for the operation to realign her nose and aid her breathing. The company at fault MKM Building Supplies pleaded guilty to the claims and paid out £4,000 in compensation to Miss Hall.
