An office worker received an award for damages after she fell down a flight of stairs. She was leaving her office to go to a meeting when she fell seventeen steps. The fall was blamed on a loose carpet tile.

She suffered an injury to her right shoulder that required physiotherapy, acupuncture and steroid injections. Despite this treatment her problems persisted so she was forced to have surgery after three years.
