£120k awarded to worker following workplace accident

£120,000 has been awarded to a man, who wished to remain unnamed, after he was seriously injured whilst performing workplace duties, in an out of court settlement.

The incident, which occurred in February 2007, when he was climbing a ladder, which was attached to his van to access the roof rack, when he slipped and fell to the floor landing on his feet.

Although the worker fell to his feet, the impact broke his heel and he was required to wear a plaster cast for 4 months. He is still left with constant pain and the brake has led to arthritis.

The man claimed the compensation following the amount of time that he was required to take off work, he is still unsure if he will be able to return.
