Money to Burn

A blocked furnace causes a man to receive burns injuries at work when he tried to unblock a furnace and molten metal fell causing a splash back injuring him.

The casualty worked at a foundry when he received the shower of hot metal that instantly set his clothes on fire and started burning his skin. The furnace that he was placing metal into became blocked and he was trying to unblock it when suddenly the hot metal dropped and molten metal covered him.

He received £10,000 compensation in an out of court settlement. He was left with permanent scars across this right hand side elbow, hands and legs.
