Foreman awarded compensation after been thrown from truck
A construction worker was severely injured after being thrown from a dumper truck he was driving.
At the time of the accident the man was wearing his hard hat and steel capped toe shoes. The front of the wheel of the truck hit the pothole and he was thrown into the air and landed on his left side.
The foreman sustained severe injuries to his shoulder, wrist and elbow. He also suffered from traumatic stress disorder which was brought on by his injuries. As a result of this it has made his home life and work life difficult.
Although the man underwent an operation the fractures to his elbow and wrist caused him no end of problems. He was in a lot of pain and discomfort over a long period of time. He cannot do everyday tasks without the assistance of family and friends.
The construction company failed to make sure that the site was safe for vehicles to be driven and also failed to make sure that the dumper truck was maintained and in good working order. The seatbelts on the truck did not work properly, If they had he would never had fallen out the the truck and sustained the injuries he received.
