Falling Scaffolding injures labourer
£19,000 has been awarded to a labourer who was hit in the face by a falling piece of scaffolding.
The sway brace fell from three stories of the erected scaffolding, causing serious injuries including displaced fractures of the left cheekbone, lacerations to the face and a tear in the retina of his left eye.
The worker had to undergo surgery to amend the injuries he sustained, including laser eye treatment to repair the retina.
