Ex employer makes £14,500 payout

A Yorkshire welder who lost part of his finger in a guillotine accident has been awarded £14,500 in compensation from his ex-employer.

The gentleman was working on an industrial guillotine machine when it malfunctioned causing soft tissue damage to his ring finger and amputating part of his middle finger on his left hand. An operation was needed which has left him with scars and he is unable to grip things properly.

The company denied liability but were still held accountable and had to compensate for his injuries.
