Electrician awarded £237,000
An electrician whose hand was so damaged by moving machinery that he couldn't work in his trade any longer has been awarded £237,000 in compensation .
He was instructed to help fix a fault on an aggregate filtering machine. Despite his protests that an experienced technician for that machine should be present, he was pressurised into helping. In the process of the work, his hand was caught in moving parts and crushed. Despite surgery and other medical treatment, the damage was too severe to keep working as an electrician.
