Compensation paid to RSI victim
A factory worker has been paid £17,000 in compensation after being forced to give up work on medical grounds with repetitive strain injury after doing the same job for 4 years without adequate job rotation, breaks or warnings.
The award was won with the help of their trade union and solicitors. Their case was helped that their complaints of ill health were ignored by their employer and that they continued to set high targets on the production line.
A spokesman for the solicitors said that the payout was fully justified and it was hoped that it would send a message to other employers about their duty of care to their employees.
