£25,000 compensation for asbestos related death
The widow of a painter and lagger for an insulation and chemical firm received the small compensation package, 5 years after he was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an incurable lung cancer that can only be caused by asbestos.
In the late 1960s, his job was to mix a solution of asbestos powder with water by hand.
